Build Real Financial Skills That Actually Stick
Our program isn't about memorizing formulas. It's about understanding how money works in your life—through real scenarios, practical exercises, and honest conversations about the stuff that actually matters.
See What's Coming UpHow We Actually Teach This Stuff
Look, finance education has a reputation for being either boring or confusing. We've spent years figuring out what works—and honestly, what doesn't.
The approach we've landed on starts with your actual situation. Not some theoretical perfect scenario, but where you are right now.
Foundation Work
We start by mapping your current financial picture. No judgment, just clarity. Most people discover they're doing better than they thought in some areas.
Build Core Skills
You'll work through real scenarios—budgeting for irregular income, planning for big purchases, handling unexpected costs. The messy stuff that happens in actual life.
Apply and Adjust
This is where it gets interesting. You'll test what you've learned with your own finances, then come back to troubleshoot what's working and what needs tweaking.
Long-Term Planning
Once the basics are solid, we look ahead. Super, property, investing—the bigger questions that feel less overwhelming when you've got the fundamentals sorted.
What People Actually Get Out of This
Results vary—that's just honest. But here's what some recent participants told us about their experience. These are real people who went through our program in 2024.
Sienna Rothwell
Freelance Designer
Starting Point
Irregular income made her anxious about money. She'd overspend when work was good, then stress when things slowed down. Had savings but no real plan.
After Eight Months
Built a system that smooths out the income ups and downs. Now pays herself a consistent amount each month and actually knows what her business costs to run. Still freelancing, just with way less stress.
Declan Ashford
Retail Manager
Starting Point
Always felt behind financially despite decent income. Vague ideas about buying property someday but no concrete steps. Credit card debt felt permanent.
After Six Months
Cleared the credit card using a method that actually worked for him. Started a house deposit fund with automatic transfers. Has a realistic timeline now instead of just hoping.
Who's Actually Teaching
Our instructors come from different backgrounds—some from traditional finance, others from education or social work. What they share is the ability to explain complex stuff without making you feel stupid.
Henrik Bergström
Program Director
Spent fifteen years in banking before switching to education. Likes explaining why financial jargon exists and how to cut through it. Lives in Canberra with two rescue dogs.
Freya Lindström
Learning Specialist
Background in adult education and curriculum design. Focuses on making sure the program works for different learning styles. Always testing new exercises with participants.
Annika Voss
Community Coordinator
Runs the peer learning groups and keeps everyone connected between sessions. Former social worker who understands that money stress affects everything else in life.
What Makes This Different
We're not trying to turn you into a financial expert. That's not the goal.
The goal is confidence. Knowing you can handle your money decisions without constant anxiety or second-guessing. Understanding enough to spot when someone's giving you dodgy advice.
Classes start in September 2025, with smaller intensive workshops running throughout the year. Everything's in Canberra, though we're testing some online options based on what people have asked for.
The program runs for twelve weeks, meeting once weekly. Between sessions, you'll have practical exercises—not homework that takes hours, just things to try with your actual finances.
Some people finish and move on. Others stick around for the advanced topics or join our mentoring community. Both are fine—we're here when you need us.
